YouTube blocked in Pakistan


Ministry
of Information Technology in Pakistan has blocked the video distribution website, YouTube, after receiving orders from the prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.


Premier Ashfraf had asked the Ministry of IT to block YouTube after failing to remove anti-Islamic movie from this site.
Blocking will remain until the ant-Islamic film be removed from YouTube.
"Blasphemous content will not be tolerated at any cost," said Prime Minister Ashraf.
Earlier Supreme Court had asked the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block links to the entire contents blasphemous including those on YouTube for anti-Islamic film.
In a reaction PTA has had run Internet Service Providers (ISPs) across the state to block connections that lead to anti-Islamic film.
According to a statement filed by the PTA, 750-800 anti-Islamic film connections were blocked after they received several complaints.
